When I grew up in the Canadian town of Dildo, Newfoundland, I led a rather protected life. For years, nothing seemed odd when my friends and I talked about Dildo or its beauty, and I think our parents were happy to leave us in our dark innocence.
However, the treatment and looks I received once I left my childhood home and told adult friends I was from Dildo, suddenly made me an expert on the "other" dildo types that are out there. It seemed natural. As soon as people knew where I was from, I had a thousand questions about the phallic sex toy so many of us have cum, excuse me, come, to know and love.
So what makes a sex toy a dildo? And, more specifically, what are the different dildo types? A sex toy can be anything that is used for sexual pleasure. A dildo is usually (but not always perfectly) shaped like a penis and is usually used for "faux sex" or penetration of the vagina, mouth and/or the anus. While usually thought of as being used by women during masturbation, they can and are often used by women on their men. Take it from me, there's something hot about having a huge dick strapped on to my naked body and watching my man on his hands and knees giving me a blow job like it's going to save his life. It may be "faux" but it's empowering just the same and judging by the hard-on he sports, he seems to be quite happy down there, too.
As for dildo types, they can be rubber dildo, PVC, latex dildo, silicone dildo, glass dildo or even metal. Different strokes for different folks. Keep your dildo well washed and clean and treated with love and it will be a friend for life, just like those you'll meet in my tiny island home!
